GNR vs DRP

Guns N' Roses front man Axl Rose, after releasing his long awaited and shitty album Chinese Democracy, has called out Dr. Pepper for not living up to their promise -- which was to give a free Dr. Pepper to every American if GNR actually released their new album in 2008. The fact is, Dr. Pepper made coupons available on their website after the albums release and left it up to the discerning consumer to notice it. Personally, I see this as being a fair and balanced, but Axl is having none of it. The corn-rowed lead singer of the band has apparently threatened with litigation, even though he's apparently shot himself in the foot according to the UK's The Register (The Register article).

To be honest, I could care less. The band GNR no longer exists. They have totally lost all appeal (if they ever really had any) since Slash left, not to mention the fact that Axl traded in the 80s metal style for the much more up to date Fred Durst look. Even the fact that the name "Chinese Democracy" doesn't seem like such a juxtaposition anymore (economically speaking) is enough for me to know this album is out of touch with the world of music, if not the world in general.
